Forder Valley Link Road

Forder Valley Link Road Infrastructure Redevelopment

This new 1-kilometre road linking William Prance Road in Derriford to the Forder Valley Road/Novorossiysk Road junction, with a strong emphasis on preserving and enhancing the natural environment. This new route not only improves connectivity for the growing northern part of the city but also integrates thoughtfully into the surrounding landscape, with biodiversity and sustainability at the forefront of its design.

Designs to preserve and enhance natural habitats, ensuring that local wildlife corridors remain intact and that the landscape is restored wherever possible, creating opportunities for planting native species that support local biodiversity.

The redesigned Forder Valley/Novorossiysk Road junction was relocated and upgraded to reduce traffic congestion while also incorporating green infrastructure elements. This includes stormwater management solutions, such as permeable surfaces and ponds, which help filter water and improve the quality of runoff, supporting local ecosystems.

Overall, this road is designed with the future of both the city and its natural surroundings in mind, creating a route that enhances the landscape, supports biodiversity, and improves the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
